I have decided that I need to start putting my thoughts and feelings back up into the internet…
I deleted my old YouTube Account because I could not emotionally and technologically properly sync it with my life… I need to start fresh with it… I may again post YouTube Videos to a new Channel called “TheKnoxxtyle” in the future but no promises… I find that when I promise things to my blog… I often let my blog down…
It’s my goal… not a promise… to build my online presence.
Knoxxtyle (Blog! Twitter! YouTube!) I pledge to try! This blog and YouTube Videos will be more longer and more edited down thoughts where my Tweets will be anything to everything probably most relating to nasty things I see people wearing or Glee.
My Latest First Thought:
I have spent the last couple months restricted to a uniform for work and I found myself needing to express myself through outfits even more so… I would dress up to go to work even though I would just end up changing 5 minutes after getting there.
I wore a Purple Striped Button-Up, under a vest with a pair of great dark wash jeans all under my winter jacket as I walked to work… then upon arriving at work changed into my uniform and then once my shift ended i changed back into my totally Knoxxified outfit put on my coat and walked home… No one other then myself enjoyed the outfit but sometimes you just get that urge to look totally fierce and nothing can stop you!
What do you do when you have to choose between waking up earlier to prepare yourself for the day or staying up til 4 AM to finish a project you’ve been working on but just seems never ending. Well when in university…. you often have to sacrifice things you never thought you would…. I regretfully had to give up my early morning prep time in order to successfully finish my first year of university.
Highschool… now those were the days when you could get your homework done in the afternoon, and have a nice relaxed family meal and watch a couple tv shows and get into bed by a decent time in order to wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Leisurely get up, do a quick work out to boost those endorphins, stroll to the shower to wash away any left over sleep. Look in the mirror and play with your hair seeing what style you particularly feel like rocking that day and then meander to your room and try on outfit after outfit after outfit… until yes the 17th one is just fabulous!! Take the scenic route down the stairs to your kitchen where you stand there with the fridge door open (something your mother always told you not to do!) deciding what you feel like making your first meal of the day… you decided to make a cheese, ham and broccoli omelette. You make it to perfection, and then sit with a glass of Soymilk and eat your “gourmet” breakfast. You finish – wash up your dishes like the ideal child you are and pack your bag at your own pace and sit on the porch enjoying life as you know it until your ride has arrived and you are off to do it all again.
FLASH TO UNIVERSITY
On your way back from Class you get a Sub from Subway and race back to your small residence room and consume your often less-than-par submarine sandwich while opening your books and watching the one tv show you promised yourself you wouldn’t let slip away online two days after it aired and you heard a spoiler from a friend. You then work on homework, projects until the wee hours of the night only deciding to go to sleep after the third time you wake up with your head in a text book. You then jolt out of bed to the most annoying alarm clock ever 2 hours before class
…snooze…
1 hour and 30 mins before class
…. snooze…
30 mins before class
… snooze…
25 mins before class
… snooze….
no you should get up now…. you drag yourself to the shower and get in only to realize you hit snooze button on your alarm clock and you rush through your shower and hear the alarm clock going off before opening your door and just praying the walls are thick enough that your neighbour doesn’t hear even though you know they are paper thin. You then throw on the first outfit that isn’t completely horrible or dirty and grab your bag hoping you put everything you need for the day in it. You get in the elevator which is walled with mirrors and realize you forgot to do anything with your hair and you have this one strand that just wont lay flat, you forgot to shave and you forgot your glasses and to top it off you are wearing a brown belt with black shoes…. yes I know, unforgivable! You race to Tim Hortons and get in the longest line you have ever seen and after 2 mins you look at your watch and realize you dont have this kind of time and book it to your class just making it in time then doing it all again.
Yes, I realize many people will not be able to relate to these scenarios exactly but guess what I can… The first was my average Highschool morning… I took time to make sure I felt good and ready everyday in Highschool. Sometime I would dress up just for fun. I probably wore a tie to school in Highschool 50-75 times in grade 12 alone and our school enforced no dress code. Where currently I am in school studying fashion and how many time did I wear a tie to class? Maybe twice…. maybe… The amount of work I have done this year compared to anything before is ridiculous but I got through it alive… and I am doing it again next year…
But I will be coming back with experience and knowledge of how to make everything work… and I realize I will probably never get back to my carefree Highschool mornings rituals but I’m going to aim for a happy medium of the two.
